Dave Myerscough of Colbinstown Stud and David Cox of Baroda Stud are combined to consign, they launched Baroda and Colbinstown Consigning in 2010, a company which prepares and then sells horses for the global bloodstock sales.

“This partnership has proved a winning one and they grown their business by over 150% in this short time.”

Baroda and Colbinstown Studs operates in the highest echelons of the bloodstock world, offering a bespoke service to international clients, providing their horses with the best possible care and rewarding owners with returns on their investments.

Last December Baroda and Colbinstown consigned Maid To Master in the Tattersalls Breeding Stock Sale in Newmarket. A sister to champion sire Mastercraftsman, and carrying a foal by sensational US sire War Front, the five year old set the sales ring alight, initiating a bidding war between three key international figures before realising 900,000 guineas.

Their name is a prominent fixture in the top ten consignors at the prestigious Tattersalls October Sales in Newmarket England and Goffs Orby Sale in Kildare every autumn, a remarkable achievement after just four sales seasons in business but a telling sign of the standards set by Cox and Myerscough.

David CoxOnce the jewel in a Maharajah’s treasure trove, Baroda Stud is now establishing a reputation as a boutique stud farm offering jewels of its own for sale. Set on 300 acres of verdant pasture outside Newbridge, Co Kildare, an area of Ireland that enjoys global renown for producing the world’s greatest thoroughbred racehorses, Baroda Stud has a storied history that goes all the way back to the Middle Ages.

Henry Beeby, CEO of Goffs and Doncaster Bloodstock Sales Ltd, is certain that Baroda’s history is the precursor to a bright future in the hands of David and his wife Tamso.

“Baroda Stud is an iconic brand and it has moved into very safe hands now that David Cox is in charge. I would see Baroda Stud as one of those farms I am going to see regularly at the sales at the top of the tree, pumping out winners.”
